Artist Bio: Steve Crandall

My name is Stephen B. Crandall, I live in Ithaca NY, and I am affiliated with FBM bike Company. I don't know when I started painting or why, but I am guessing its a result of my restless nature, and hyperactive imagination. I would guess it's partly fueled by caffeine. and influenced by design marker fumes, and whiteout stench.

I think i was asked once by a girl in Philadelphia, to illustrate a childrens book, about the beecher kids, but its still in negotiations. During the winter's in upstate NY, I pass the time by working at FBM, driving roughly 100 miles every day, riding a skate park on the weekends (sometimes), drinking coffee, making soup, and trying to piece together my fragmented thoughts.

I also pine for warmer weather, and drink more coffee. Do I have any opinions on art or bmx? I like doing art, and riding BMX more than any other aspect of each, but since both relate to my job, I guess it would be a contradiction to say I don't care about the baggage that goes with each...

Maybe I just don't relate well to some of the popular opinions that seem to define both art and BMX. The 2 seem to make up a good portion of who I am though, and I am happy about that.
